? UPDATE: Our final pup count for this litter of naked mole-rats is 8! The queen had one more pup between Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Naked mole-rats usually give birth to litters ranging in size from 10 to 30 pups. The queen has 12 nipples to nurse the pups. And her spine gets a tiny bit longer during each pregnancy so she can carry increasingly large litters. #GameofMoleRats
