The Ajima Festival and its Historical, Impressive Lion Dance
(Takagi Village)

The Ajima Festival has been celebrated in Takagi Village since the Heian Period.

Its highlight is none other than the Ajima Lion Dance, whose costume spans 20 meters in length.

Also called Abare Shishi, or “Violent Lion,” its visage and movement are full of power.
