Today I had some appointments throughout the day downtown. Coming across new cool restaurants and shops makes the walks in between that much more inspiring, even through the cold. And, after the amount of time I’ve spent in Toronto throughout the past 8 years, I realized there are still some museums and galleries I haven’t been to yet! So, I am making it my mission to knock those off my list when they’re located near an address I already have a meeting or appointment at.
I’ve now checked the Bata Shoe Museum off my list ?✔️. My biggest takeaway was realizing that the origin of all the kinds of shoes and boots that are now available in ONE store for us are influenced by ancient styles of shoes and boots from countries all across the world. Everything we wear now is inspired by an entire world’s worth of designs, inspirations, and traditions over the years. I couldn’t help but then think about how connected we all are now, just through something as simple as shoe designs, and how special that is. With inspiration like that to carry forward in my week, how can this not be a day WON.
