Daikon date on Valentine’s Day. My love for daikon 不是开玩笑的. This daikon feels heavier than Sakura, made in Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa Prefecture. Miura is one of the oldest Japanese radish production area and has varieties of daikon hybrid, with the most famous being its namesake, Miura Daikon. This gigantic white root is suitable for stews and simmered dishes as it is able to hold its shape well. Can you imagine how tough it is to harvest daikon as huge is this?? Today I learnt to appreciate my daikon even more.
