Ford is issuing a recall of about 1.5 million vehicles, citing an unintended downshift to first gear in certain F-150 pickup trucks that’s caused at least five accidents.

The automaker issued a safety recall on select 2011-2013 Ford F-150 vehicles with six-speed automatic transitions. It is also recalling 2017-2019 Lincoln Continentals and select 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus and Lincoln Navigator vehicles.
