Wildlife Photo Tips from @Tim Laman: Even when you have an amazing view in front of you, the strongest wildlife image often comes not from including the whole scene (like in the video clip), but by “extracting” details with a telephoto. Here on Devil Island in Antarctica, one thing I concentrated on was the dramatic moment when penguins entered or emerged from the water. I used a high shutter speed (1/4000 sec in these shots) to completely freeze the splash. Here are a few resulting shots from the scene, and thanks @footloosefotography for the #BTS shots. I was double – tripoding to go back and forth between video and stills on my Gitzo tripods with a Gimbal head for the big lens, and 2-Way Fluid Head for the video. @GitzoInspires #FramedonGitzo #TL_WildlifePhotoTips #wildlifephotography #Antarctica #penguin @natgeoexpeditions
