"Teenagers bring so much truthfulness and rawness to art because we’re angry, we’re sad, we’re in love and we’re not afraid to make that heard,” Kinsale Hueston (@kinsalehues), a 2017 National Student Poet, tells TIME. "My poetry empowers my activism,” says the writer and college student, who is a member of Navajo Nation. Her award-winning work focuses on Native culture.
