I was impregnated this image in Hampton. Beaches in the Hamptons are fiercely straight and crispy sharp. It gives me the impression of integrity, very different from Hawaiian Beaches that I’m familiar with. I wanted to adapt this decisiveness to my “Year of the Wild Pig” piece too.

この絵、前にこのNYのハンプトンの海岸で描いたスケッチから生まれたんです。キリリと真っ直ぐにシャープなハンプトンの海岸はハワイのビーチとまったく違う高潔さがある。で、この潔い感じをイノシシの干支画にも描きたかったわけです。
