Photo by @jimrichardsonng Five thousand years ago the Ring of Brodgar was something to see. It still is! Built by Neolithic people on the narrow Ness of Brodgar it was a sacred site called a henge (meaning a earthen bank and a deep ditch) long before they ever put up the stones. The stones came later. Twenty seven of the original sixty still stand at this cherished UNESCO World Heritage site. I shot this from a kite. (My advice on kite photography: don’t do it.)
