Martin Luther King Jr.’s house will soon be open to the public after the National Park Foundation purchased it earlier this month. The home in the Vine City neighborhood in Atlanta is where the civil rights leader and his wife, Coretta Scott King, raised their children. Their daughter Bernice A. King said the family lived there when her father was assassinated in 1968. “My brothers and I are honored to have fulfilled my mother’s wish to allow future generations to know the story of our dad as a father, a husband, a minister, and a civil rights leader,” she said.
