Shetland is the most northerly outpost of the British Isles. It’s one hundred or so islands sit between the North Sea and the Atlantic a hundred miles northeast of mainland Scotland’s most northerly point. The islands are rich in Viking and Pictish heritage and the islanders remain proud of their Norse roots.
