I'm really glad I saw the Mr Rogers Doc. I cried through the entire film, I grew up watching the show, he was the caring constant male figure in my life because I didn't really have anyone like that in real life. The film has also influenced the film I'm writing. I hope to capture his spirit in the script. I'm doing something most Hollywood people would tell me not to do with curbing certain types of violence, but I don't care, this is a kids film and I'll be damned if I allow a gunshot to happen in my film. I am anti-gun and the only way I would use a gun is to show that gun being put down, the gun being put away so we are stopping violence before it happens, changing the mind of a person who is about to make a bad decision. I want teaching moments that break the standard, not go along with what's cool for entertainment.
