This is the final weekend to experience “Birth Canal,” #MargueriteHumeau's installation in our South Galleries. Inspired by the ancient history of Venus figurines—and the shamanic practice of ingesting animal brains for their supposed psychoactive effects—Humeau combines sculpture, light, and scent to evoke a primordial tableau of early human spirituality.
