Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings, is where we get the name for January. ❄️
New Years Day is the one moment we collectively engage in looking forward and backwards. Glancing at the top nine there are four images from Jimmy and one with him in it. The success of @freesolofilm makes me happy and is well deserved. The surprise is a short essay on courtesy and an open letter to my son @max.lowe on his birthday. It’s not just eye candy. Thoughts matter. ?
We celebrated my mother’s 85th birthday. She continues to thrive and is a part of our daily lives. ??♂️
@sam_loweanker @iloweanker on the summit of Granite Peak, Montana. The state highpoint was a fun journey in August. ??
Grateful for @ザ・ノースフェイス for the decades of partnership. The values that climbing is built on - trust, determination and cooperation- being shared in places unexpected is heartwarming. Transitions are good, provided they aren’t a surprise. Honored to have @hilareenelson take the reins of Team Capitan for @ザ・ノースフェイス athlete team. Skiing Lhotse in fine style with @jimwmorrison is a measure of this woman’s potential. You rock Hils!

The @khumbuclimbingcenter will celebrate 15 years of instruction and the completion of the training center in 2019. Thanks to the community that supports this project.

@jenniloweanker thanks for 18 years of love and friendship. We visited New Zealand and Australia and fell in love with the people and landscape. Our sunset hike of 2018 was brisk. The kindness of your heart and our happy dogs kept us warm.
