Yatsugatake as Seen from Minamimaki Village―A Cluster of Many Mountains

Located near the center of Honshu, Yatsugatake is one of the Japan’s Hyakumeizan, or 100 Famous Mountains.

It is a cluster of many peaks that appear as one, so it was given the name Yatsugatake, which means “eight peaks”. (In Japanese, the number eight is often used to mean “many” or “countless”.)
