Photo by @williamodaniels | Patients walk toward the Matvei Mudrov hospital train on the BAM railway (Baikal-Amur Mainline) in the small village of Kenai in eastern Russia. This is the first time that the train has stopped in the village over the past three years. The moving hospital offers basics and specialized services, such as x-rays, ultrasound, and ophthalmology. The train crosses extremely isolated parts of Russia, and many communities rely entirely on the BAM for services. I photographed the story of the medical train in 2013 for National Geographic magazine. #medicaltrain #Russia #hospital #onassignment
