Photo by @hannahreyesmorales | Jessica Catiis, a Filipino domestic worker, died on July 4, 2017, in Saudi Arabia. Her remains, covered with just a loin cloth in a wooden box, were not returned to the Philippines until seven months later. Her family put her to rest in a beautiful ceremony, with her remains transported by a horse-drawn carriage. The whole barrio came and wept for their girl, who was said to be "full of dreams" and "always smiling." They were told she had committed suicide, though she had just been talking excitedly about applying for work in Taiwan days before. They have received none of her belongings.
