“D.H. Lawrence Reading” was filmed at the Venetian palazzo where #SarahLucas and her partner Julian Simmons stayed during her Biennale exhibition. In the video, Lucas reads from “Medlars and Sorb-Apples,” an erotic ode to rotting fruit by the controversial English poet D.H. Lawrence. Lucas was frequently inspired by Lawrence’s often-explicit poems, a selection of which appear in the catalogue for her British Pavilion exhibition. “D.H. Lawrence Reading” is included in “Sarah Lucas: Au Naturel,” on view through January 20. .
