Kayanodaira Kogen in Kijimadaira Village

Forests of 300-year-old beech trees, called the most beautiful beech forests in Japan, cover the highland area of Kayanodaira. Here, you can also see a plethora of alpine plants. 

This area is also designated as a forest therapy base by the Japanese Forestry Agency and many people come to trek through it.
