About the project - ‘The Fall Formal’ explores the aesthetic of a 1980’s prom using AW18 collections. The idea was inspired by my own experiences with prom, as a child my school hugely lacked in diversity so I wanted to create the most inclusive prom experience I could think of while maintaining a fun/accepting treatment for the images. I also wanted to create references to iconic films such as ‘Carrie’ (1976), which is why our beautiful prom queen is cradling the baby piglet, and the cult film ‘Mean Girls’ in which the character Regina George is forced to attend prom in a head brace, our plus size model Joanne’s character was inspired by Madonna in Material Girl.’ #CraigHemming
