As the name suggests there are two peaks (Lantau peak and Sunset peak) and the course goes on top and over both of them. Both peaks are around 1000m (3000ft) high so its a long climb followed by a long downhill section. On the first long downhill I really saved my legs, I was making sure I was landing under my body and holding back on the pace to save the legs for the upcoming climb and most importantly the last downhill. Even though I could see 2nd place getting closer to me I made sure I didn’t panic and stayed with my game plan. This allowed me to run the second downhill a lot faster and finish the race strong. ———————————————- Sometimes I leaned about trail running is that its best not to smash the legs on the first few downhills of a race. It’s really easy to run down the first few downhills of a race super fast but most of the time you will pay for it at the end of the downhill with gelly legs and smashing up quads. Save the quads for the second half of races, it will allow you to finish strong and catch up with a lot of struggling runners in the end of race? —————————————————- Massive thank you to @hongkongsportsclinic for looking after my body and getting me ready for another season ?
