Photo by Michael Yamashita @Michael Yamashita | Xiayigou Earth Forest, Tibet’s Grand Canyon. The early morning light bathes the canyon in a beautiful bluish hue. Odd shaped rock forms carved out by water and wind erosion along the Xiangquan, Elephant River. Never heard of this National Park or seen photographs of it before, perhaps because of its remoteness - it took us 6 days of hard driving from Lhasa to get here.
