Let’s help her in her new teaching position! “Hi, My name is Dana Williams and I’m a certified Pre-k to 3rd teacher, in New Orleans, Title 1 school. I’ve been teaching for 13 years. Most of those years have in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. This year I’m teaching Pre-k and I’m so excited for the new experience. I am not able to use the majority of my teaching manipulatives and books this year because they are not on the Pre-k level. So I’ve been spending more than I normally do, so that my babies( students) can have age /grade level appropriate materials for their various centers. Yes, my district has given me some but not enough. For instance I had to buy a very used kitchen set for my housekeeping center. It has no doors or knobs but I couldn’t let my babies not have one when the other classes all have one. They are 4 and really don’t understand the difference but they did realize that all the other classes had one and they didn’t. So as a teacher we get creative and we do what we have to for our kids.” LINK IN MY BIO
