I’ve been thinking a lot lately, about the parts of myself that are ‘too much’ for others. My strong opinions, my self deprecating humor, my unapologetic sexuality, my strength. Feeling like I’m ‘too much’ has been such a source of shame that for too long, ultimately did nothing but dim my light. I no longer want to exist in a way that makes me feel I have to disappear to make other people comfortable. I want to continue to grow and shine in my authenticity, and to do that I must accept myself. I am not ‘too much’ just because someone else is ‘not enough’.
