The cocktail bar featured 120 Japanese lanterns custom-made by one of the oldest manufacturers of paper lanterns in Tokyo. Each hung from a black lacquered pergola erected at the foot of the Bethesda Terrace steps, where guests gathered following the 50th Anniversary Show before heading into dinner around Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.
