Legends in Ska, Toots and the Maytals play Ally Pally tonight. Who's going? Toots and the Maytals were one of the most influential bands in bringing Jamaican music and culture to mainstream popularity in the west. Reportedly, they are even the originators of the term Reggae. They were signed to Chris Blackwell's Island Records, and songs like Bam Bam, Pressure Drop, Monkey Man, Funky Kingston and 54-46 (Was My Number) remain global hits. Nothing couples with sunshine better than Toots and the Maytals. Forming in 1962, it is an indescribable pleasure to see the band continue to tour across the world in 2018.
