“This video highlights the crucial role our art handlers play in realizing an exhibition! I loved watching them install Alberto Giacometti’s “The Nose” (1949), placing the cage and hanging the suspended form. This work is a particular favorite of mine, as it embodies the artist’s post-war exploration of trauma, its evocative form expressing the horror of war and an abhorrence of violence. Giacometti explored the cage motif throughout his career, but I find it most moving here, as it contains the deep emotion of the central figure.”—Samantha Small (@samantha.small), #Giacometti supporting curator.
