Photo by @peteressick | An early morning canoe ride on the Milwaukee River in Lincoln Park, Milwaukee is enhanced by the past efforts to restore the river through this scenic stretch. The cleanup of sediments on the river bottom contaminated with industrial chemicals such as PCBs and PAHs started in 2008 and was completed in 2015. The restoration was made possible by funds from the Great Lakes Legacy Act.
