In anticipation of Afropunk, aspiring filmmaker Darryl McPherson (aka @_thejournee_) spent two days immersed in an entirely fashion-focused creative pursuit: gluing hundreds of rhinestones on a canary yellow durag, a piece he considers a crown. Says Mcpherson,”I’ve been to the festival three years in a row and each time I’m inspired to go above and beyond to create something new.”
