KEEN Ambassador @carolinegleich has always dreamed of climbing and skiing in the Himalayas, now is her chance. Next month, she’s embarking on a trip to Tibet to climb and ski Cho Oyu, the sixth highest peak in the world.

This summer she’s taken her training to the next level and competed in her first ultramarathon, running 50+ miles per week and finished in her first bike race covering a grueling 70 mile gravel course including 10,000ft of elevation gain through the Tushar Mountains outside of Beaver, UT.
The final component of her training is to pre-acclimatizing in a Hypoxico tent. This relatively new technology allows climbers to sleep at higher and higher elevations so they can do the painful work of acclimatizing from the comfort of their own home. She’s now sleeping around 16,000 ft to help prepare our bodies for the demands of going to basecamp on Cho Oyu at 18,000 ft.
