photo by: @renaeffendiphoto // A bride in Dhaka, Bangladesh gets her makeup done as she wears her jewelry set made of gold and elaborately decorated with gems and pearls. This jewelry set was given to her by her family for the special occasion of her wedding. She will receive more gold on her wedding reception day from the groom's family as well. Designed by an Indian fashion designer - Anita Dongre, her bridal sari took ten months to make by hand and was embroidered with silver thread and small pearls. I photographed a variety of wedding traditions and rituals in Bangladesh, prosperous or modest celebrations in both urban and rural areas of the country.
