✨The finds at #SuttonHoo contained a number of stunning gold objects. Covered in fantastic imagery rendered in gold, garnet cloisonné and glass, they revealed a lot about 7th-century Anglo-Saxon art and metalworking techniques.
This purse lid is elaborately decorated with scenes showing birds of prey attacking duck-like birds, and a heroic image of a man standing between two beasts.
