I find it crazy to think I would never have posted this photo a year ago. Why? Because I’m not wearing a scrap of makeup ? My cheeks are covered in hyper-pigmentation and my skin texture isn’t the smoothest. As a result, I used to be so reliant on makeup that I couldn’t physically leave the house without a popping a little bit on. When I blew out my birthday candles I used to wish for clear skin like “all the other girls” ? And now? I hardly wear makeup. My skin hasn’t changed, it’s still covered in marks and scars. But my attitude has. My skin doesn’t define me and it doesn’t define my beauty. I consciously push myself to go out, meet people and live my life makeup free. I’ve spent every day here in New York bare faced and when I’m home in London I do the same most days ?? That’s not to say I don’t EVER wear makeup. I pop it on a few times a week. I mean I used to be a beauty blogger years and years ago, I just bloody love makeup.
