This is me with the President of the U.N His Excellency Miroslav Lajčák. When I was invited to the UN I was excited. I had heard all sort of stories over the years about the U.N. I’m a pretty real sort of guy and all I can say is that I was blown away with the people I met there. Everyone I met was like you and me. I quickly noticed that their passion and dedication to making this world better was truly amazing. The President invited me into his office and we spoke about his vision to help the Youth of today be leaders of tomorrow. I met his wife and all members of his fantastic team. We joked and laughed and spoke of the future. Formalities were left at the door and realness took its place. It was a huge eye opener for me. We have this perception that people in big positions are “ over there” and we are “ over here” . I saw first hand that this was not the case. The Way the President spoke, laughed and interacted with all members of his staff showed me that he is in the trenches with us just doing his absolute best to make a change!
