東京に戻ったら朝吹真理子さんの新刊「TIMELESS」が届いていた。
２年前、私はこの小説からインスピレーションを得てコレクションを発表しました。当時毎月連載されていた新潮をホチキスで束ねて旅の最中読みこんだのが懐かしいなぁ。過去現在未来の記憶の旅のような物語。複数の時間軸をトリップしていくような感覚がこの小説のおかげで形になりました。私にとってとても大切な小説です。

After long trip, later last week I returned to my desk and received Mariko Asabuki’s new book “TIMELESS”. Inspired by the very novel 2 years ago, I made a collection also called “TIMELESS”. I remember I used to cut out the pages of Shincho, stapled, and carried to wherever I go.
The story is like a journey of memory - across past, present and future. The peculiar feeling of criss-crossing the different timelines has gained a form and became my collection.
The book means so much to me.
