IMPORTANT!! Bullying followed by bullying back = perpetuating more bullying. Bullying but empathising back = understanding and less pain. This is something I learned a long time ago. Very often, when someone says something mean to you, it is a reflection of themselves and how they are feeling - not of you. I know it is difficult, but try to empathise with that person. Learn about them and their day, and try to understand WHY they said what they did? HOW did they grow up? WHO made them think that it’s okay to talk to people like that? What happened in their life today, that upset them? You will find the more you know about someone, the more you can understand why someone said what they did or behaved in a certain way and I think its important to at least consider this, before letting someone else's behaviour "ruin your day". Also remember, ‘empathy’ does not necessarily mean ‘forgiveness’ it also does not show a person that what they did was the right thing - what it means is a greater understanding for YOU. So YOU can know that you didn't necessarily do the wrong thing when someone is bullying you, there isn't something "wrong with you". To ‘empathise’ is to be understanding of someone’s situation - no matter what has happened. So today, if someone says or does something to you that is rude... remember - instead of automatically taking it to heart, consider maybe they are having a bad day. If you are getting bullied, don’t ever think YOU are the problem, okay? Know that the person bullying you also has problems of their own and might just be taking it out on people close to them. You are strong, you are beautiful, you are confident - keep your head up ? www.kaylaitsines.com/app
