Here's some #MondayMotivation: 4th of July edition! ??? Employers used motivational posters like this one from 1927 to encourage the behaviors they wanted to see in their staff. Even the 4th of July was an opportunity for encouragement. A note on the back of this poster explained that American ideals (according to the C.J. Howard company that made the poster) were loyalty, honesty, frankness, fair dealing, industriousness, aggressiveness, and determination. "How faithfully a man daily tries to live up to these ideals is his test as an American," the poster continues, before concluding "Good works beat fireworks!" What does it mean to you to be an American?
