Despite the fact that a clear majority of Americans support stronger gun laws that would reduce deaths and likely prevent future mass shootings, many Republican lawmakers openly stand against them. Many of those same Republicans, like Florida Senator Marco Rubio, have also spent their careers receiving money from the National Rifle Associaton. (Rubio, to the tune of $3.3 million, the sixth most of any currently serving congress member.) "The position I hold on these issues of the Second Amendment, I've held since the day I entered office," Rubio told @CameronKasky, a Parkland survivor, during a televised Town Hall in February. "People buy into my agenda... I will always accept the support of anyone who agrees with my agenda." At the @MarchForOurLives, some Parkland students wore $1.05 price tags, the amount of money Rubio has accepted from the NRA, divided by the number of students in Florida.
