My parents’ living room in Manhattan... It’s cluttered, it’s messy, it’s disorganized...and yet... There’s a photo print (never saw it!) of my mother with Jaki Byard. Countless cookbooks and books & magazines on jazz stacked by the never used fireplace. A metallic “cage” with wine corks (I spy 2005 Ch Greysac, Argiano Brunello di Montalcino, 1989 Ch Gazin, bunch of champagne...there must be a few hundred corks in there). The center table that used to be our dinner table in my youth in LA... It is home.
