A young rat climbs from between the bars of a drain in Lower Manhattan in the early hours of this morning. Although rats living in cities are considered to infest the sewers and subways, they are actually more common living in safe places along and under the sidewalk - particularly places with easy access to a food supply - like the garbage bags of a nearby restaurant. This rat has everything it needs - a drain and a deli nearby. Shot on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック with the help of @georgemckenziejr
