A Loggerhead Sea Turtle forages for food on a seagrass bed in the waters near Placencia, Belize. Seagrass beds are vital to nearby coral reefs, as are mangroves, in that they provide necessary nutrients for organisms to develop and thrive. 
Loggerhead Sea Turtles are considered an endangered species, with many of these creatures harmed in fishing accidents and through the destruction of ecosystems necessary for reproduction. Because these beautiful creatures dwell in such broad areas of the world’s oceans, protection will require international cooperation and support.
