Just catching up on all of the excitement of the royal wedding, and wow!! What a beautiful wedding and incredibly powerful moment for our world. Couldn’t let it pass without a comment. First of all, Meghan is absolutely gorgeous, Prince Harry is adoringly in love, every time they looked at one another I cried! And Meghan’s mom! She’s is stunning, so much love and pride in her face... the choir and “Stand by Me” = perfection. The whole thing felt like a huge step in racial healing. I pray. Having a mixed race son I can tell you it matters! It’s important for him to see people who look like him in places of honor. He always notices and because of my love for him, so do I. Thankful for that. And lastly, but most certainly not least Bishop Michael Curry proclaimed some of the most beautiful and true words I’ve ever heard. God is healing our world. Ultimately the source of love is God himself, the source of all of our lives...There’s power in love to help and heal when nothing else can. There’s power in love to lift up and liberate when nothing else will. There’s power in love to show us the way to live....
Now someone once said that Jesus began the most revolutionary movement in all of human history, a movement grounded in the unconditional love of God for the world. A movement mandating people to live that love. And in so doing, to change not only their lives but the very life of the world itself.
