For this work, artist #SongTa tricked a contingent of Chinese marine soldiers into riding a particularly terrifying roller coaster. In the resulting photographs and video, the soldiers fight to remain stone-faced, but a few inevitably begin to smile. In this way, Ta reveals the humanity behind those in positions of power.
