Photo by @FransLanting Elephant at rest. After a delicious mud bath this elephant took a nap while resting its trunk on a tusk and relieving pressure on one hind leg by crossing it against another. Because their bodies are so heavy elephants often sleep standing up to avoid putting too much pressure on their organs, but once in a while they lie down.
