I don’t need to introduce @セレステ・バーバー – she is all of us.
I had followed Celeste on ye olde social media like many of us creeping in the shadows,hidden behind the screens of our iPhones,double tapping a love heart ‘LIKE’ & sometimes offering up a comment to tag a friend who I know would resonate instantly with Celeste’s all too relatable content. ⠀

I had the honour of speaking at a @businesschicks event in Melbourne last year,I was humbled to be on an incredible panel of powerful business women. ⠀
On that stage I spoke of the @SamanthaWillsOfficial business, my personal insecurities, life hurdles, & all the “cry in the shower” moments to over two thousand people. ⠀

When you come off a public speaking stage like that, a stage-hand kindly removes your mic pack & you are guided to the dressing room were you’re good to go on your way. My job done for the day, I went to grab my bag to leave & as I did I looked up & there on the couch sat; Celeste fucking Barber – she was due to speak in the following set…. Not only was she just sitting there but, get this… she was wearing a pair of #SamanthaWills earrings. ⠀

I lost my shit. ⠀
⠀
Any media interview I had done over the previous 12+ years of my career had without hesitation asked: “How do you feel about Taylor Swift/Beyonce/Katy Perry/JLo wearing your designs? I would always reply “It’s amazing,its very surreal,etc” –It was a habit response, because while I was of course excited, if I was truthful, I didn’t really care too much about it.

I wish I had of been able to give a media interview that day, because I had never felt such pride in someone wearing @SamanthaWillsOfficial than when I saw Celeste wearing it.

Tonight I had the privilege to sit in a sold out crowd in New York fucking City to watch Celeste, a girl from the Central Coast of NSW Australia, receive a very deserving standing ovation. ⠀
Her message is real, honest, & EXACTLY what the world needs more of. ⠀

Celeste – firstly- Happy Birthday!! And CONGRATULATIONS to all that you are my friend. The world needs more Celestes. What a true honour it is to witness the history you are making. ⠀
