My mom stopped working to raise my sister and me, and then had to go back to work when she and my dad got divorced; although not to pursue a career as we tend to think about it today. Just to earn a paycheck to help provide for us. She's always been an amazing mother and now grandmother. She is selfless, loving, helpful, supportive and always available to us. I think she thinks that it's really her relationships and her family that define her. But what amazes me most about my mom is the stuff most people don't get to see. She has a great imagination, comes up with the most creative ways to play with my girls, and has a wonderful sense of humor. In fact, she might not know this, but my favorite person to watch comedies with is my mom. When she thinks something is funny, she laughs so uncontrollably, it's contagious. Her laughter makes me laugh, which is why Anchorman remains one of my favorite movies of all time. I saw it with my mom in the theater. When we were posing for this picture, I said we were too stiff and then, my mom surprised me with a joke out of nowhere. "Did you hear about the peanut who was walking down the street? He was assaulted." It is a terrible joke but ohmygod, her deadpan delivery while looking straight to camera, just GOT ME. I started laughing and I was done. Every time I thought about it, I laughed some more.
