Post 2/3: This is me vaccinating baby Jannat with a dose of Pentavalent-III. It will protect her from Diphtheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis-B and Haemophilus Influenza. Thanks to the hard work of my colleagues, five million children received three doses of Pentavalent vaccine across Pakistan. The successful vaccination of a child is an emotional time for me. Especially when I give children their first vaccine. It’s setting them up for a healthy life. With my work comes great responsibility. Whether it is raining, or blazing hot, whether I am happy or sad, the health of a child comes first. People trust us with their lives, and each human life is important. Even the smallest of mistakes could negate years of hard work. Vaccines must be stored correctly, administered with care and disposed of properly. It’s hard work, but seeing children complete their course of vaccination and grow up healthy is hugely rewarding. © UNICEF/Pakistan 2018/Sami
