Grab your dancing shoes and brush up your flamenco - in today’s #lpinstastory we’re heading to #Seville’s Feria de Abril with #LonelyPlanet local @seville_writer! Feria de Abril is Seville’s biggest annual celebration, and one of the most colourful and vibrant in Spain. For one week, 1,000 striped tents are filled with Sevillanos chatting, drinking and dancing. The festival started in 1847 as a livestock fair, and still has a strong equine element, as horse drawn carriages parade around every afternoon, carrying men and women in traditional dress.
