Esme fights the pump and cold on a frigid day in Kolob Canyon. Kolob is one of the most stunning sport walls I’ve ever seen, with steep pumpfests of moderate grades and loads of jugs. It’s also some of the softer bolted rock I’ve experienced, and I certainly didn’t want to fall on many of the bolts. An 80m rope is needed to lower from some of the anchors (first anchors, not extensions). Worth the hike for the scenery alone!
