Jan bless this young woman and all of the young people who are taking up this calling. For her, I hope she allows herself time to grieve properly and to find quiet and solace, at some point, away from the weird madness of sudden fame. Every politician in Washington past and present - ALL OF THEM - should sink in shame that their utter failure as leaders has left it to the youngest among us to fight the hardest to address the objective fact that we are addicted to guns. More guns in America per capita than any other country in the world - and more gun violence and more dead kids...whether on inner-city street corners or in suburban classrooms. 1.4 million Americans dead from guns since 1968 - more than the total number of US soldiers killed in all of our country’s many wars. The misinterpretation of the archaic, ambiguously worded 2nd amendment has made us less safe and more dead. Ridiculous. Sick. Enough.
